    I want to answer Question#3.

First, I think what I can do is reject to eat, use and buy the products which are made from the endangered species, for example, Formosa landlocked salmon , redwood and a bear’s paw. And I think this is a piece of cake for me and for every consumer to prohibit from buying those animals and plants, so that we can save them from extinction. Secondly, if we human beings can protect our environment and not to destroy the habitants which belong to those animals and plants so that they can have a better place to live.

I think this is not only our government but also we; the common people's business. We all should take the full responsibilities in protecting our endangered species. As the government, they should enact some law about protecting the endangered species and their habits. And they can build up more places for those animals and plants to let them have a better and safer place to live, especially for the places which had been destroyed by human beings. I think our government should help them rebuild their home.

In my opinion, our government should enact some laws to protect the habitats of those endangered species. For example, restrict the industrial factories not to dump their sewages into rivers. As for human beings, we have to refrain ourselves to throw the garbage when we go sightseeing to their habitats. Because of the garbage, those endangered species lost their home.

I think to protect those endangered species is everyone’s responsibility. Anyone who lives in this world should take the full responsibility to protect endangered species. The government can establish some shelters to preserve the home of endangered species; moreover, to promote more activities which involves in teaching our citizens to protect them. By doing so, I think it will arouse citizen’s attention and they will start to take action.

I think what we can do is to recycle papers and use the reprocessed papers. If we use not so much paper, we also don’t need to cut down so many trees. Therefore, the place that lots of endangered species can have a good environment to live, and the endangered plants also won’t be cut down. We have to leave them an area to live, because the earth not only belongs to human but belongs to every life in the world.

I think everyone has the responsibility to protect the endangered species, especially governments, because many things only governments have the power to do it. For example, governments can enact laws for restraining the waste water discharge to protect the rivers, lakes, and ocean where many endangered species live.

    I want to answer Question#3.

In my opinion, the first step is that we should try to recover the natural environment for those endangered species. Several countryside and forests now are exploited for the development of our country. However, when we pursue the success, we destroy many valued species in our country gradually. Therefore, we should think twice and consider those endangered species when we start to develop a place. Second, we could have a group of people who all interest in and love to be volunteers to protect and help those species. If there are some people make the effort to help those species to live, I think they can have more generations in our country. Third, we should punish those cruel businessmen seriously who hunt the endangered species and make them into products. Then, they sell the products to people only for their profit. It is cruel and they don’t respect the lives in the world. However, as a customer, we should not pursue those products which are made from endangered species.

Above the points I mentioned, I don’t think our government should take full responsibility but they should take a half. Because the government can control the exploitation of our country, if the government can stop or monitor the exploitation well, the species would not be hurt. The other half responsibility should be people’s responsibility. We should take care of our environment more instead of throw away our garbage everywhere; otherwise, we are also one of the killers of the endangered species.

I want to answer Question #1.

As I know, pandas are endangered animals. Due to the habitat loss and their low birthrate, the number of pandas used to be very low. Now, thanks to some conservation projects, the number of pandas has increased. Nonetheless, pandas are still classified as a rare species.

Another endangered animal is the tiger. Their habitat is seriously destroyed, and they are overhunted by human. Though human has been aware that tigers are in danger of being extinct, some people still keep poaching them. Protecting tigers has been a difficult task.

To me, both pandas and tigers are attractive. They are both beautiful and precious animals in the world. It'll be a shame for human to lose them. I hope that pandas and tigers can survive from the danger of dying out. And I know that now we can see pandas in the Taipei zoo; if I have time, I'll visit there to have a look at the pandas!

The government can establish national preserves to those endangered species under a law and set a limit of daily visitors to prevent overcrowding. There, visitors can not do anything harmful to those endangered species such as hunting animals and cutting down trees. The only thing they can do is behold and enjoy the scene.

Actually, our government should not take full responsibilities in protecting our endangered species. I think all men should take responsibilities because we live on the earth and it is our duty to preserve our environment and maintain ecosystem. What the government does is assist us in taking actions to protect our endangered species.

After reading this article, I do want to go to Red Wood Forest. I've been lived in busy cities for twenty years. I really want to visit some natural places like forest to take a rest. If everyone can have a chance to visit there,I think it can stimulate everyone's love to protect environment. Also, we can know more about our nature and feel the great power of nature.

In Taiwan, there are many national parks or natural reserve areas. I have ever been to some of those national parks and reserve areas. Whenever I visited those beautiful places, I felt peaceful in mind. I want to recommend a beautiful place in Hualian. It is called 水源地. Its river is clear and cool, and there are mountains around the river making the whole scene become beautiful.REALLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

I think the only way to protect those endangered species is to let everybody know their importance and let everybody know that they're facing this kind of situation. Of course, governments also need to urge the people to protect the enrironment so that these species' living enrironment won't be changed. But I think to do this is too difficult because few people really change their habit in order to save endangered species. Take polar bears for instance, everybody knows that they're dying because of global warming, but few people change their living habbit (to turn on air conditioning less, to take public transportation ect)because they prefer a better life for themselves.

So, I also think that the government don't have to take the full resposibility because governments do urge people to protect endangered species but few people care about it.

    I want to answer question#1.

I know polar bears will become the next endangered species in the near future because of the rise of sea. In terms of the rise of sea, humans should be blamed for it because we keep emitting carbon-dioxide to warm up the earth. Besides polar bears, I believe there are still many animals and plants suffering in the planet we humans create. They don't have the ability to change the planet because they are comparatively weaker than humans. Only humans can decide how the planet will become. If we keep polluting and destroying our planet, I think one day not only animals and plants will be endangered, but humans will, too.

In my opinion, of course the government should take some of the responsibilities; however, the most efficient method is still the doings of people. As long as we don't hunt those endangered animals and also don't eat them, this problem will surely decrease to a certain extent. In addition, I believe that education is one of the crucial approaches. We should be taught the importance of conservation. Also, we should teach our next generation the concept of this issue, giving them the idea of protecting the endangered species. Above all, it is undeniable that the government owns more power to actually initiate some actions to solve this problem more or less; yet, the real strength of protecting those endangered animals should rely on us.

I want to answer question #3.

In Taiwan, only a few people pay attention to the issue of protecting endangered species because most of Taiwanese can not absorb sufficient information about this issue. If people can't get enough information to understand the seriousness and urgency of the problem, they will not take immediete action to join the conservation. Therefore,I think our government should take the responsibility of arousing people's consciousness in protecting the endangerd speices in Taiwan. I suggest that TV commercial, raising parade are ways to get peeple's attention. Also, government may invite some celebrities to endorse for the protection plan or make a shortfilm or movie about the issue. If more people are concerned about the problem and start to take action, then more endangerd species we may save in Taiwan.

    Question #1.

Living in a modern city, it is very hard for us to relate to topics about endangered species or the thousands of animals going extinct every year. We all know which species are endangered from textbooks and media information, but we rarely realize that all the endangered species mentioned usually appear in city zoos. A lot of zoo animals like Asian tigers, pandas, cheetahs, panthers etc. are placed in captive and man-made habitats simply because their natural habitat has been destroyed beyond imagination, depriving these animals of a life in the wild. Therefore, they're only choice of survival is in captive. We all know about species becoming endangered, and we see them often enough in zoos, but there is little information we can access on how to slow down or prevent the inevitable process of thousands of species becoming extinct.

In my opinion, the government should take part of responsibilities rather than full responsibilities. In Taiwam, the government have promoted executive groups to ban any illegal hunts and slaughter of endangered animals. Except for these severer means, the goverment could use other ways to promote the protection such as posting advertisement or creating slogans to inform people the situation of these animals. However, the one who should take the most responsibilities are the citizens, who take those promotions of protection into action.

Yes, definitely. In my opinion, government should have more courses related to how to protect those endangered species and the importance of their existences in school. For instance, if you get a fever, you can take some power of horn of rhinos. This kind of action will kill more rhinos. With the lack of knowledge, our foolishness will still endanger those animals. so in my opinion, if government can work this out, those cute animals will live happily ever after.

then according to what Wendy says, maybe human beings should be locked in city zoos. At least, it is one kind of species of animals.

Whales are endangered species in the world because people keep killing them for their meat and their whale oil. But I think they are really amazing animal that can sing beautiful songs, have large sizes and high intelligence. They seem to be the angel in the ocean so I hope people can protect them.
I have been to the national preserves and national parks in Taiwan. I think this is a good way to protect the endangered species. It means our government is aware of the valuable natural resources in Taiwan so the officials establish some laws to protect that environment. Then less people would not dare to destroy the natural resources. But I think government should not take the full responsibilities in protecting our endangered species. It’s everyone that has to cherish and love what we have.

I think of course the government should take the responsibility to protect endangered animals but not full responsibilities, instead, everyone is responsibile to do so. Only when people do realize that the way we live has been making huge bad impact on earth, which not only endangers anlmals but also jeopardize ourselves gradually in fact. Though we all know we should be more eco-friendly and also know how to do most of people do not carry out and are not aware of in their daily life. Therefore, the actuall practice is what we should do instead of just saying. Besides, protecting endangered animals is not the only thing we should be concerned about but preventing more specise from becoming extinct is more important.

I want to answer Question #3.

The main factor leading to endangered species is the habitat being destroyed. Because of the development of agriculture in 1950s, many lands and rivers have been polluted by pesticides. Nowadays, the quick expansions of industry also make great damages to the environmental system, so these precious animals have difficulty to live in this island. Moreover, the illegal hunt for commercial purpose still happens. What I want to say is that not government but we human beings should take responsibilities and people should know the gravity of this phenomenon.
So, I suggest that factories should make purification of wastage well and people can also engage in cleaning rivers and lakes in their leisure time. Besides, don’t cut trees and protect the forests from pollution. Therefore, we can guarantee these endangered species to have pure and clear habitats.

If there's Chance for me to visit Red Wood Forest. It must be great. Living in the city like Taipei and Hsin chu, the life pace is so fast that sometimes i can't just enjoy the lifetime. The air is quite dirty and the noise is loud. I think it is also the reason why nowadays many people go to suburban for trips. To spend few days there, i can feel refresh and also, you can do whatever you want. For example, to see the sunrise and sunset, to take a walk in the forest and inhale the fresh air in the morning and so on. All these can release one from suffering pressure which is good to everyone. To walk in the forest, it is just like a way to run away from the stressing life in urban life. I can feel the breezy, inhale the fresh air and experiencing the sunshine. This reminds me of the beauty of nature.

I have been to one tourist spot in middle Taiwan which is also a national preserve when studying in high school. This district also has a lot of trees just like Red Wood Forest. My classmates and I walked in it and enjoy the cool air; it was really a good experience. It is totally natural and anyone can release there. Without any stress and messy things, I like it very much!!!!!!!!!

i want to answer Question 1.

Polar bears are definitely the endangered species. because of the global warming, the situation of the Arctic ice layer melting is getting worse and worse, which then causing the area of their habitat to become smaller and smaller. What's worse, they can be drowned if they can not find the ice layer to land on. Furthermore, it is said that polar bears will be extinct in 21 century.

Oncorhynchus Masou, in Chinese is 櫻花鉤吻鮭, is also a species that is facing being extinct. The first reason is, of course, the deforestation. This will cause landslides when there is a Typhoon. And the mudflow will make the clean and pure river where Oncorhynchus Masou lives muddy.

For me, I want to see the Polar bears the most because one, they are cute and i want to touch them; second, knowing they will be extinct, I want to see them while they are still there. Polar bears are unique, and there will never ever be another species like them.

Humans sometime will unwittingly destroy animals’ environment. And quite a few selfish people have been hunting and slaughtering these wild animals. We are responsible to these endangered animals, because these inhumane acts are threatening survival of many animals in the wild. Though we don’t have a complete solution to solve the whole current situation, we can start it by ourselves.

We have to use the people’s force to appeal government to make an action. We suggest our government enact tough laws to ban the poaching of wild animals. We appeal to the public not to buy products made from endangered wildlife. We should stop the destruction of wildlife habitat in no time. After all, it is everybody's business to save our wild animals.

Instead of running promotion telling people not to harm those endangered animals, I think what the government should do is to set up more laws, and be very determined that anyone does so will get punished very seriously. And it would be even better if they really catch some people who do harm the endangered animals and punish them and announce the punishment publicly to the whole country. So people will really learn that this is not right, this is guilty. So people will really behave themselves from doing so.

OF COURSE I want to visit Redwood Forest. I'm really curious about how huge those trees are and how fresh the air is. If I have a chance to go there, I'll spend a whole week relaxing there with my family. That will be a wonderfaul holiday for escaping from the anooying Taipei.

Actually, there are some National Preserves in Taiwan. I have been to one of them called 淡水河紅樹林自然保留區. In my opinion, establishing national preserves is a good way of protecting endangered species. However, those policies should be strictly put into practive. Otherwise, those curel hunters or people who want to hurt endangered species may have the chance to escape from the law and do more bad things.

As what I know, sharks are being hunted to extinction. It is estimated that 100 million sharks are killed by people every year.

Being seen as not animals but only a seafood, sharks are often killed for shark fin soup. The process are very cruel that fishermen capture live sharks, fin them with a hot metal blade, and dump the finless animals back into the water, and these sharks soon dies from suffocation or predators...

I think it is really a shame that even though people know exactly how sharks are killed, they still go to have shark fin feasts.

We live in an affluent world that people would like to make anything into dishes if they like to eat, sharks are only one of them. It is no longer a problem only for shark fisheries management, it is also about morality. Our virtues and values are distorted by the cold-boold desires for food and economic values.I hope one day we can wake up and stop doing this.

I think the most direct way to preserve those endangered animals is to enact the laws. Those who hunt these endangered animals and make them into products as well as those who cut down trees and destroys the inhabitations of these endangered animals should be punished severely so that they don’t dare to do that again. Besides, when going to the tourist site, never forget to take away the garbage. It seems to be a small action, but it means a lot to the endangered animals.

It is not only the government’s responsibility but also ours. We are all living on the earth and we are all responsible for preserving these precious animals. Most important of all, both government and people should work together and put our words into action.

There are many endemic species in Taiwan, such as Formosan macaque and so on. Sadly many of them are endangered. As human develop their society, the places of wildlife have been sacrificed. Since then human and wild animals have competed for living places. We often hear pieces of news that Formosan macaques invade in human residences, looking for food. It is time for us to think: do really the macaques invade in our residences, or it is human that deprive their habitats. It is a serious issue to strike a balance between human's and wild animals’ survival rights.

If I had a chance to see endangered species, I would like to see wild Formosan back bears. I had an unforgettable experience when I last time visited Taipei Zoo. After visiting a variety of animals, I was excited to see endemic species of Taiwan. However, when I visited the black bears, I was disappointed. Due to being kept in the zoo, those bears were unenergetic. I would like to see those bears live happily in mountains rather than being kept in the zoo.

I think that both our government and citizens should take the responsibility. I'm a citizen in Taiwan. I want to give some advice. First of all, we should educate our people that eating wild animals such as dolphins isn't a good way to keep healthy and young. Second, when people go camping on the mountain, they should not hunt wild animals as food. Also, they should put out the campfire after they leave there. Third, citizens should learn how to appreciate the nature species, but not take them home as pets. Fourth, try to decrease any type of pollution. Last, love our nature, and cherish what the nature gives us.

First, I think how to protect the endangered species is a very serious problem that people all over the world should pay highly attention to. As long as there is a big market of endangered species, there will be someone trying to kill those endangered species and sell them worldwide. Therefore, in my opinion, the best way to solve this problem is not to buy anything that is made from animals. Moreover, I think the government shouldn’t take the whole responsibility of protecting those animals. What government really should do is to teach people the importance of those animals and restrain people from killing them.

I think the best way to protect them is to separate them from human beings because the reason why they are endangered is mainly due to people’s illegal hunting, environmental destructions and pollution. As a result, leaving those endangered species a clean and peaceful natural space is the best thing to do even though is sounds difficult to do. And as I said above, human beings’ selfish behaviors are the main reason for those endangered species, so everyone should take the responsibility for this, not just the government.

If I could get the chance, I’d like to visit the mysterious Red Wood Forest. When I was a little girl, my father usually took us to climb the mountain. I did really enjoy being surrounded by the nature, listening to various species of birds chirping in the woods, breathing with the fresh air, exploring the woods to find some rare plants or animals. To me, it’s exciting to explore an unfamiliar place with friends, especially in such wonderful place like Red Wood Forest.

Although I have never visited a national preserve, I believe that one day I could get the chance to visit one with my beloved families or dear friends. Closing eyes, I can imagine the feeling of being in a national preserve where haven’t been damaged by technology. I think a nation preserve must be an ideal place for writers, for it can inspire lots of ideas.

I think the most effective way to protect the endangered species is to enact the laws to restrict people. People who visit the national preserve should have the social morality to keep the environment clean. Do not throw away the garbage or damage these precious species. In addition, do not pick the species like flowers or catch the animal to keep it. They belong to nature and they have their own habitat.

I think not only government but also citizens should take responsibilities in protecting our endangered species. Only when all people pay attention to this issue can these percious species live without danger.

Strictly to say, I think there's no practical way to protect our endangered animals, unless our government do want to devote itself to care about our nature. It's really difficult, or say, impossible, to find and keep the balance between developing sivilization and protecting the nature; therefore, in order to keep developing our country, certainly, people will choose to sacrifice the nature, and that's why I think in a negative way.
I can't say that it is all the government's fault since in some ways, the act of developing which might harm the nature and thus kill the endangered animals is for our own good.

Besides, we should appeal and educate people to cherish these endangered species because they are the most precious treasures in our country. To protect the endangered species, not only the government but we individuals should take the full responsibilities.
It is necessary that the government should enact and enforce the animal protection law more strictly, Shortening the process of trial and putting the administration into reality are also urgent. However, this is all the government can do. What really matter are how to educate every individuals to respect every species that also deserve to live in the same planet.
Either government or non-governmental animal-protecting-associations has been promoting to protect the endangered animals. But what also counts is the protection of every animal. That means besides the endangered species, the other animals should be shield from the extinction. Human activities are the vital threat to the animals, especially for the endangered ones. If every individual knows to respect the species, and stop the wresting of inhabitant and the living right from them, then I believe no species will become extinct any more.

Deers are the endangered species that people are barely aware of. Few years ago,I was really surprised at seeing deers walking around (even crossing the road)during my trip in Japan. I felt really excited cuz that was my very first time closely staying with deers. Then I thought of Taiwan, where used to be famous for its spotted deers. If I had the chance, I would like to see Taiwanse spotted deers doing what Japanese deers do, walking everwhere; however, it's just a dream eventually.

Long time ago, we could see a lot of formosan sika deers in Taiwan. But now, formosan sika deers are endangered because many hunters hunted too much formosan sika deers at the Netherlands Occupation. Formosan sika deers have beautiful eyes, so I wnat to see them closely. I had seen them in the Green Land, but I just saw their eyes in the night. We couldn't be close to them. If possible, I want to see them closely.

In order to protect endangered animals in Taiwan, I think we should search the help of government. We should have laws to protect the animals. However, the human being also should be educated from little age. Nowadays, not only some endangered animal, I noticed that there are some stray dogs also need help. People keep them when they think they are cute but abandon them on the stree when they don't like them or even don't have money to keep them. But the dogs are innocent, they have no fault. There is only two ways they have after been taken away. If he is a lucky dog, there would be another people keep them. On the other hand, if there is no one want to keep them in 12 days from the day they were taken, they will die. I think it's very sad to see what happened on these animals but sometimes I can't do something for them.

Polar bear is endangered. It's one of the most beautiful creatures that God created in the world. It's human who put them in such a sad and bad situation. Once we can see that bear mother hunting for her baby, but now this scenery will no longer exist. We can even see the photo that a Polar bear mother ate her own child because of starvation...

Even though Polar bear is very dangerous, I still want to see it. I want to see them before it's too late.

To prevent the endangered species from extinction, the government can establish the national reserves to protect and rebuild the endangered species' habitat.

It is not only the govenment' responsibility, but also ours to protect the endagered species. We should reject to buy the product which are made from the endangered species like furs and reject to eat the things which are made from the endangered species.

I think it would be better if we keep endangered animals in a wild life preservation area. To put them in a zoo and have thousands of people stare at them is not a good idea because that would stress them out. The preservation has to be a large space where they are well protected and can travel around because that would make them happier and healthier. Moreover, I don’t think it’s proper for people to release them back to the wilderness because some selfish people would still hunt and hurt them illegally even though there are laws that prohibit people from doing so. I don’t believe that those people would learn to protect those animals because most of them always want to take advantage of those precious things to make money.

Pandas are also endangered. First, they are slow pokes, which makes them fall easy prey to carnivorous animals (lions, tigers, etc.) Second, their cubs are very vulnerable, most of which die before growing up. Third, their habitat was heavily ravaged by deforestation, which makes them suffer from starvation.

  52. There is a huge number of endangered life forms on this planet. The one often discussed most recently is the polar bear. But there is one whose extinction is of even greater importance. It is plancton, a very small life form living in the ocean. It is the main food resource or whales and is also the beginning of the food chain. If it were to be extinct, the whole food chain would be ripped apart, which would have disastrous effects on all life forms on this planet. So I would like to see the plancton to flourish.

I haven't been to the Red Wood Forest yet, but I would surely love to go. I am very much interested in those kind of places, but I don't see me going there in the near future, due to time and money limits.

Of course I think that Taiwan's government should be responsible for the protection of animals, as should any other government anywhere else. They have to greatest financial resources (as opposed to privat sponsors) and thus the best chances. And as someone once said: With great power comes great responsibility.
