When I was in elementary school, there was a typhoon hit Kaohsiung. During that night, my grandfather had to take me home from cram school, but the rain was so bad that my grandfather’s motorcycle could not move forward. After we came back home, the flood was nearly get into my house then my grandfather took out a board to prevent the water from permeate into the house. Unfortunately, it was all in vain. Half of my feet were soaked in the dirty water. What’s worse, the electric power was cut due to the typhoon and it was hard for my family to move all the furniture. The next day, the water had already receded, but most of the furniture was broken. This typhoon was the most unforgettable natural disaster that I have ever had.

  2. Yes. One of the main factors that causes the vanishment of the ozone is the greenhouse gas, and I know there are two ways of reducing the ommission of the greenhouse gas. First, to take buses or MRT rather than driving. Second, to reduce the time of using airconditioner in summer. Those two ways are useful for reducing the ommission of the greenhouse gas.

We cannot always stay indoor, so I always use sun block when I go out. Sometimes, I will wear a smock so that I can protect my skin from sunburning. Umbrella is also a good choice. Some umbrellas now can keep us away from sunlight and UV radiation. Also, I think drinking water is also importand when you go outside in a hot weather. It can supply you enough water so you will not feel thirsty or ill.

In summer time, especially in June and July, UV radiation is the top enemy in every girl’s black list, and I believe that almost every girl has her own tips on preventing UV radiation. As to me, first, I believe that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, so I’ll try to stay indoor as possible as I can. If I really need to go outside, I’ll always bring sun block (waterproof will even better) and the umbrella which can UV radiation with me no matter where I go. Also, wearing black smock and mask when riding motorbike is the basic theorem for every girl already. However, just remember, although black will absorb the heat easily, it’s also the most efficient color in preventing UV radiation! (black is better than white)

I always try to stay indoor during the day. If I have to go out, I would render the scheduled time after the sunset. If I really have to go out during the day, I would use an umbrella to protect myself from the UV radiation. When I walk under the sun, I'd keep walking in the shadow of buildings or trees. I just try to stay away from the sunlight as possible.

The most unforgettable natural disaster that I have experienced is 921 earthquake. Although the big earthquake didn't cause serious damage to my hometown, I did remember the terrifying night. When the earthquake happened, all my famil members woke up. At first, before I opened my eyes, I thought I was dreaming, but after a few seconds, I realized it was a big earthquake. I and my family ran out of the bedrooms and I remembered that we even couldn't stand still or walk normally in the passage. Because the first floor of my house is operating a textile factory, my father was worried about the factory and he also had to take care of my family. Thanks to God, there was no damage to my home finally. We should really cherish everything we have now.

I try not to go outside around 12 a.m. Also, I often use sunscreen and BB cream to protect my skin. Surely, an UV umberlla is another choice.
In sumer, I seldom wear short T-shirt outside. I will put on a light coat to prevent UV radiation.

I forget the name of that typhoon. I remembered when I was a junior or senior high school student, there was a typhoon coming from a direction of southwest of Taiwan Strait. This typhoon caused floods everywhere. The top floor of my house was filled with water. I tumbled my self when I tried to clean the drain. At that time, my mom told me a piece of news. That thing which astonished me a lot had happened after I cleaned up the drain. In the morning, the county government didn't announce whether to have a day off or not so all students in Changhua needed to go to school. However, at noon, the county government said that we didn't have class in the afternoon. At the period of time of announcing day off, the ground was full of water. An elementary school teacher was washed away when she was dispersing her students. The police didn't find her at that time due to stronger typhoon.

Several years ago, a typhoon named 桃芝 caused serious damage to Taiwan. At that time, my family and I lived in 龍潭, a small county which is famous for 龍潭大池. The rain that typhoon 桃芝brought was so heavy that 龍潭大池 was overflowed, and the water just flooded into our house, which was unfortunately close to it. The water receded after two days, and we spent lots of time cleaning our house. It was the most terrible experience that i have ever experienced.

There are many useful methods to prevent myself from being harmed by Ultroviolet radiation. For example, wearing sunglasses, applying suntan lotion when going outside; furthermore, if I were an woman, I would put up an anti-UV umbrella when being exposed to sunlight.

Few years ago, i took a trip with my sisters to Huelien. At that time, the weather was good at first, but the weather report also had reported having a typhoon. We still went there enjoying our trip. However, just at the last day of our trip, the weather started to change. It rained heavily. On the street, there were seldom people. The electricity also shut down. What made me unforgettable the most was the view at coastline. Along the road back to HsinChu, we had to drive car going through the North Coast. Waves were so big; with wind, it raised so high. It was dangerous to stay there but it was so beautiful. I just cannot forget the scene that wave hit on the rocks.

When I was little, there was a typhoon that caused great damage to Taiwan. During that period, all I could see was things floating on water. I was so short that my parents asked me not to go downstairs. When I stayed in my room, all I remebered was that the news kept reporting the effects of the typhoon. I cannot never forget what I saw at that time, the victim's family was crying and their houses were collapsed. Since then, once there was a typhoon, it always reminds me of the scenes in my childhood.

  15. Of course I will apply some sun block to prevent myself from the sunburn. And because I am a little allergic to the sun, I can’t stay too long under the sunny day, I always bring an UV umbrella with me for blocking the sunburn, too. The most importantly, I will drink more water when I need to stay outside in order not to get sunstroke.

When i was a kid, there was a typhoon called "賀伯." i still remember that there was no electricity so that at night, my family had to light the candles in order to see clearly. Also, even though we closed all the doors and windows in our house, the water still got in our house, so that we had to use buckets to get rid of the water out of our house. The next day when the electricity finally came, we saw the news and we knew that this typhoon caused great damages in Taiwan.

After 911, there was also a big earthquake on about 311 next year. This earthquake remained me the power of nature. When 911 happened, I was sleeping and didn't know anything. However, on about 311, the earthquake made me dazzy and shake. The whole world shook. It was really terrible. I couldn't imagine how terrible 911 was. The power of nature is strong. If we don't cherish our nature, our descandants will face doom.

When I entered the university, I experienced a serious typhoon in the first month. It rained very heavily with strong winds, but I still went out on that day because I had a date with a friend. We intended to see the movie but the theater was closed, so we went to another one. When we were watching the movie, suddenly the electricity was off, so a woman shouted angrily at the theater staff. After a few minutes, the electricity was supplied again, and we finally finished the movie.

It’s impossible for us to always stay indoor, so we have to make well preparation to protect ourselves from the UV radiations. Everyone has their own way to prevent UV radiations. First, about 30minutes before I go out, I will apply the sun block. And it’s important to use the umbrellas that prevent UV radiations. And when we walk outside, we can walk on the shadows of trees or buildings as much as possible. And even though it’s hot in summer, I will still wear a light coat to prevent my skin from the direct contact with the UV radiations.

In fact, i have been through many kinds of natural disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes. Luckily, people around me and i were pretty safe. However, there was indeed an earthquake that impressed me the most, and it was on September 21st. i was in elementary school at that time. This terrible earthquake happened in the midnight when i was in a deep sleep. i remember it was my mom that woke me up and told me to run out of the house which was too old that we thought that it might not be able to sustain this huge natural power. Yet, the good thing is not only we but also the house finally survived.

  22. Usually, when the weather is horribly hot, I will choose to stay at home or go shopping in department stores where provide free air conditioining and can protect me from UV radiation. If it's necessary for me to stay outdoor, I will apply sunscreen to my whole body and wear mask, cap, and coat to make sure that most of my body would not directly expose to the sunlight. By the way, my suggestion is to apply sunscreen to your body at least every one hour or you will get sunburn if staying outdoor in sunny day for a long time.

When I was little, My Mom always tried to protect myself from exposing to the sun in every possible way. For example, sitting on the back of my Mom's scooter, I would wear a jacket, a mask, a cap with helmet; it's just like the whole outfit. I felt very annoyed at that time, but, right now, I realize that it's really important to prevent myself from staying too long under the sun, because the UV radiations might hurt your skin and make your skin have freckles. Therefore, as I go outdoor, I will definitely apply enough sun block and carry an umbrella with me.

Frankly speaking, I seldom apply sunscreen in big sun weather. Most girls will apply sunscreen all over the body and bring UV-proof umbrella whenever they need to go out. Almost every girl has her own method to prevent herself from sun exposure simply because they do not want to get tanned. I am not as nervous as other girls who hate sun exposure so much.

However, as I finished reading the article, I aware that because ozone depletion, there are excessive ultraviolet radiation reach the Earth’s surface, having disastrous effects on human health. It changes my view of sun exposing. I realize that avoiding sun exposure is not only preventing human from getting tanned but also from the damage of UV. Since exposing to UV will cause skin cancers, I will apply sunscreen and bring umbrella whenever I go out in order to prevent exposing to sun directly.

If I go out, I will use sun block first and apply it on my skin to protect my skin from sun burning. Then, I will wear hat, sunglasses, and long sleeve clothes to decrease the measure of area that my skin exposures under the sun. Besides, I will avoid to exposure and stand under the sun for a long time. The UV radiation is horrible because it might hurt our skin in the silent way. Therefore, it is very important to protect our skin under the threat of horrible UV radiation.

When I was in elementary, there was a typhoon. I couldn’t recall the name of the typhoon, but the typhoon days were really unforgettable. I lived in Huatan, a small village in Changhua. The strong typhoon hit Taiwan, and caused flood in Huatan. Flood had never happened in Huatan, and we had a blackout and could only stay on the second floor of my house. A lot of water kept coming into my house, and the height of the flood was more than 30 centimeters. Sometimes, I could even see some fish swimming in the water. A few days later, the typhoon left. Fortunately, the typhoon didn’t cause great damage to Huatan.

First, I walk every day. If the distance to my destination is pretty long, I take public transportation such as bus or MRT. Second, I turn on the air conditioner when the temperatures are over 26 degrees Celsius. Third, I suggest my family members to buy household appliances like refrigerators or air conditioners with eco-friendly marks. The above practical ways can save a lot of energy and reduce the emissions of harmful substances to the ozone.

I want to answer question 2.

As we all know that the ozone is vanishing mostly because of the green house gas, which mostly contains CO2. So the least I can do to prevent the situation from getting worse is turn the lights off if when not in use. This may not be regarded as the greatest action to save the world, but in fact, it does help eliminate the CO2 emission unwittingly. Second, I take take the public transportations, such as Bus and MRT, instead of driving or riding the motorcycle.

It is universally known that the vanishing of the ozone is causing the raising of temperature, and the main cause of these environmental issue is we human being. Since “the damage to the earth” is not built in one day, to prevent this situation from worsening can’t be reached the goal in one step; instead, it needs to be put into practice step by step, and day by day. Every little change in our life can be significant to the world overall. It only depends on whether or not you want to help out. You can start it by reducing the water when washing your face the next morning, bring your own chopsticks when having your meal in the noon, and using your own thermos cup when buying coffee in the afternoon. There are still a lot of ways that were taught since we were little to protect our mother earth, and it’s never too late to practice it.

First, I always put on sun block before going out, so that I might decrease the rate ofgetting skin's illness. Also, I would take an unbrella that can use to block the sunlight when I walk. In addition, I would drink lots of water so that I won't get sunstroke easily. What's more, due to my eyse' problem, I have to wear sun glasses.

The most unforgettable disaster is flood on August 8, 2009. I remembered that there were a lot of people could not have place to live in the part of southern Taiwan. Their families had gone and houses were destoryed. We saw a lot of terrible secens in the news. Many people could not find their families and cried. This disaster leads to a lot of people's death. It reminded me that life is very prescious and can not back to origin. We have to grasp now and live a meaningful life.

As the problem cannot be solved in short time, things that we can do are very few. For my personal actions are using public transportation system and reducing the frequency of the use of air condition. Although it seems not so big deal when taking these actions, but if everyone on the earth can do these, then the situation may become better, or, it can be said, not being worse and worse. If everybody take the ozone problem seriously, I think there would be more efficient solutions to make this problem easier to control.

It is better to stay indoor. If I need to go out, I always use suntan lotion and replenish every hour. Moreover, I will wear a thin jacket and use umbrella which is useful to block the UV radiation. Wearing sunglasses is helpful while riding motorcycle and mask can prevent girls’ face from the damage of radiation. Drink more water and fruit is a good manner to pass the summer in a leisurely way.

    Sichuan earthquake.
It is also known as the Wenchuan earthquake.
Though I didn't undergo this disaster, I really feel sorry about that. In 2009 summer, I went to Sichuan with my club members and relieved the people in stricken areas. They need government help, their envionment is too distressful to live.
After backing to Taiwan, I really felt the people there really are poor. We have to consider our bless.

    Qestion 2

I always wondered why people don't do anything to prevent the ozon layer from getting weaker, but then I realized that many people theink the same way: What I can I do, I am only one person. But that seems to be the wrong kind of thinking. Every action has a reaction, so every little thing that you do will make a difference. And the more you do, the bigger the diference will be. And that is one of the reasons why I try not to use plastic bags any more when possible, or washing detergents on a natural basis. And recenty I alsways take the bus or my bicycle to school. I can only hope that that will make a difference.
